This video is a tutorial for users of the California Communities Extreme Heat Scoring System (CalHeatScore). CalHeatScore is a public health mapping tool to help Californians stay informed, ready, and safe when temperatures rise. The purpose of CalHeatScore is to reduce heat-related illness and save lives by translating weather and health data into easy-to-understand health risk alerts. This tool raises awareness of extreme heat events and equips individuals (including parents, seniors, and caregivers) as well as organizations (such as local governments, non-profits, and businesses) to plan for, mitigate, and survive extreme heat events.
